Survey Spotter is a survey aggregator that links you to 3rd-party survey panels that you can join and receive rewards from.

As far as I can tell, Survey Spotter is not a malicious data harvesting scam.

However, I was not able to identify any clear benefit in joining the 3rd-party survey panels via Survey Spotter’s portal.

Either way, based on my external research and experience with rewards platforms in general.

I’m of the opinion that most folks will struggle to earn anywhere near £300 per month as outlined on Survey Spotter’s website.

Overall: limited value – approach with minimal expectations.

  • Making money is possible.
  • Free to join.
  • Linked to an established company.

  • Low relative hourly rate.
  • You don’t know what your data is really being used for.
  • Not a reliable way to make money online.

Welcome to my honest Survey Spotter review.

Survey Spotter claim that if you sign up via their website.

You can ‘earn up to £300 per month or £5 per survey’ in your spare time.

And whilst £300 may sound like an achievable amount.

This report revealed that the hourly rate for completing online surveys ranged from just $0.41 – $2.03 based on +50 hours of work.

And that was using 12 of the most high-profile online survey sites like Swagbucks and Toluna.

Plus, having recently exposed some rather shocking rewards platform scams.

I thought that I’d better sign up to Survey Spotter to see if they are legit or not.

Here’s what I discovered.

What is Survey Spotter?

Survey Spotter is a survey aggregator.

Which means that once you’ve joined up to Survey Spotter.

You’ll be provided with a list of 3rd-party survey sites that you can join and receive rewards from for completing surveys.

However, the next point is one that you should be clear on…

Does Survey Spotter Pay You Directly?

This is one of the main problems with survey aggregators.

Their websites often give the impression that you’ll be compensated for your efforts directly via themselves.

But in reality, it’s the 3rd-party survey sites that you’ll join AFTER you’ve signed up to Survey Spotter that will pay you for completing the surveys.

Which raises a very important question…

What Does Survey Spotter ACTUALLY Do?

In my opinion?

Not much.

Because survey aggregators like Research Tribe and Top 10 Best Paid Surveys claim to be able to secure the ‘best deals’ for you when you join via their portal.

And whilst this may be true in certain cases.

The real motivation for these aggregator sites is to bank a commission when you join each survey company via their special affiliate links.

Now, there’s nothing wrong with using this style of lead generation when done ethically.

(I use affiliate links on this site too).

But you need to be aware that if the aggregator isn’t 100% legit.

Your personal details may be falling into the wrong hands unnecessarily.

More on this in a moment.

Who’s Behind Survey Spotter?

I was a bit worried at first.

Because their website doesn’t conspicuously state who’s behind Survey Spotter.

However, digging thought their Terms and Conditions revealed that Survey Spotter is owned and operated by Allgroove Limited.

Allgroove Limited has been in business since April 2003.

Their registered office address is Unit 1 80-82, White Lion Street, London, N1 9PF.

How Do You Contact Survey Spotter?

It’s not immediately obvious on their website.

But Survey Spotter do have a ‘helpdesk’.

Located here:

Where you can delete your account, request access to your information, and unsubscribe from marketing communications.

How Much Does Survey Spotter Cost?

Survey Spotter is free to join.

As are the 3rd-party rewards websites that they link to.

Is Survey Spotter a Scam or Legit?

From what I’ve discovered thus far.

I’m inclined to believe that Survey Spotter are a legitimate survey aggregator site.

And I have no evidence to confirm that the Survey Spotter portal is a malicious data harvesting scam at the time of writing.

However, I still don’t really know where my data is going to end up once I’ve handed it over to Survey Spotter.

See below for my advice on protecting your information and staying safe.

How Does Survey Spotter Work?

Here’s how the sign up process works.

1: Open Your Free Survey Spotter Account

The first step is simple.

Enter your name, email address, gender, and date of birth into the form.

Before submitting, you can tick a box to opt in to additional emails that could improve your earnings.

I didn’t opt in to the extra emails.

So, I can’t really comment on if this will result in any further benefits or not.

2: Choose Survey Panels to Join

The next page asks you to select which survey panels you’d like to receive offers from.

There were 8 companies that I could choose to receive offers from when I executed this process.

3: Enter Address

Clicking the ‘Continue to Final Step’ button triggered a pop up box.

Where I was asked to enter my postcode and select my address.

The next page asked me to check my emails to confirm that I’d like to receive offers.

My Thoughts On Survey Spotter

I’m pretty familiar with the common pros and cons of aggregator and online rewards websites in general.

And having had a good look at what Survey Spotter have to offer.

Here are my thoughts.

1: Research Each 3rd-Party Website

Most of the names of the survey panels that I was asked to join I’d seen or reviewed before.

So, I already knew that the likes of Swagbucks and 20 Cogs have a decent reputation.

But I strongly suggest that you do your own research on each brand before divulging any of your personal details with them.

Because although I’ve never used them.

I’ve heard that Greenpanthera aren’t totally legit.

Which brings me to my next point.

2: Think About What You’re Revealing

Even if the survey panel isn’t known to be a scam.

You still don’t really know how your data is going to be stored or how it’s going to be processed.

As such, you might want to seriously think twice before giving away information that could be used to steal your identity.

Furthermore, I’d advise that you use a different email address to sign up to the rewards websites.

This will help keep spam and potential phishing emails away from your real inbox.

3: Don’t Expect to Earn £300 Per Month

I’ve already cited a report that reveals the typical hourly rate for completing online surveys.

And that same source also said that they struggled to find enough surveys to complete to fill one hour’s worth of work.

Which means that you may struggle to get anywhere close to making £300 per month from all of the survey sites combined.

Plus, I’ve often filled out online surveys before.

Only to be told that I don’t qualify for the reward at the end.

Which is a real time drag. 🙁

  • Making money is possible;
  • Free to join;
  • Linked to an established company.

  • Low relative hourly rate;
  • You don’t know what your data is really being used for;
  • Not a reliable way to make money online.

Conclusion: Approach With Low Expectations

As I said.

I have no good reason to believe that Survey Spotter is a malicious data harvesting scam at the time of writing.

But based on my research and personal experience with survey sites in general.

I’m of the opinion that most folks will fall significantly short of the ‘£300 per month’ mark stated on Survey Spotter’s website.

Especially once you consider the amount of time spent faffing about with each individual survey portal trying to hit the minimum ‘payout’ thresholds.

Plus, some rewards websites will only pay you in points or gift tokens and not cash.

Furthermore, I’m not totally convinced that there are any clear benefits to joining the survey panels via the Survey Spotter portal.

However, I didn’t check the ‘enhanced offers’ opt in box upon joining.

So maybe that’s where the hidden value lies.

Who Should Join Survey Spotter?

I think that Survey Spotter is probably best suited to anyone who is simply looking to earn a couple of quid in their spare time.

Joining any survey panel or aggregator site with the intention of making any sort of decent money is probably going to result in disappointment.

Let me know in the comments section if you think Survey Spotter is any good or not.
