Southbank Investment Research provides financial investment information and newsletters.

The feedback from real customers has so far been very good and I have little reason to believe that Southbank Investment Research is a scam at the time of writing.

But please make sure that you clarify the billing and refund terms for your individual product with the sales agent before buying.

I’ve been doing a fair number of investment opportunity service and newsletter reviews recently.

And during my research, I ended up on a sales page for a book called:

‘The Gold Bible: Your Ultimate Guide To Profiting From The Precious Yellow Metal’.

Looking at the small print, I discovered that the author – Nick O’Connor – was cited as being a publisher for Southbank Investment Research.

I’d never heard of this group before.

So I decided to do some due diligence.

And this Southbank Investment Research review reveals my findings.

How Much Do The Newsletters Cost?

The ‘Capital & Conflict’ and ‘Exponential Investor’ newsletters are free.

But the pricing points for the Premium services aren’t clear.

For each of the premium newsletters, the call to action is to phone Southbank Investment Research for more information.

Where I can only assume the individual prices are revealed after a sales pitch.

If you know of the exact costs for any of the premium newsletters – let me know in the comments section at the end of this review.

Can You Get a Refund?

According to their Terms and Conditions, Southbank state that most subscriptions allow you to cancel within 14 days of purchase and claim a full refund – as per The Consumer Contract Regulations.

In some cases, an extended refund period may be granted for some products – this will be stated on the order form and in the confirmation email.

For Platinum, Gold and Lifetime memberships – it looks like you can possibly claim a refund up to 60 days.

Maintenance fees apparently apply to the lifetime memberships – future payments of which can supposedly be cancelled.

Refund policies may vary for 3rd party services promoted through the Southbank platform.

Is Southbank Investment Research a Scam or Legit?

Based on what I’ve seen so far?

I personally think that Southbank Investment Research is a legitimate financial information publication service and NOT a scam.

However, there are some important points to keep in mind before parting with your cash.

And that’s what I’d like to talk to you about in the next section of this Southbank Investment Research review.

My Thoughts On Southbank Investment Research

I’ve not yet subscribed to any of the individual services provided by Southbank Investment Research.

But I have reviewed a fair number of these types of newsletter services before.

And here’s what I think you should be aware of before making any purchases.

1: FCA Regulations Only Apply to SOME of Southbank’s Services

Southbank Investment Research Limited is authorised and regulated by the FCA (‘Financial Conduct Authority’).

Their FCA number is 706697 and you can view their profile on the Financial Services Register here.

But not all of Southbank’s services are regulated by the FCA.

This means that the associated protection afforded by the Financial Ombudsman Service and the Financial Services Compensation Scheme – plus possible compensation in the case of insolvency – may not apply to the particular service that you’re considering subscribing to.

I suspect that these limitations will apply to services concerned with ‘crypto assets’ – since this is not currently regulated by the FCA at the time of writing (more info here).

But I advise clarifying such matters with a sales agent before purchasing the service that you’re interested in.

2: Not Allowed to Give Personal Investment Advice

Although Southbank Investment Research is regulated by the FCA, they are NOT allowed to give personal investment advice.

Evidence of which can be found under the ‘requirements’ section on Southbank’s Financial Services Register entry:

What does this mean for you?

It means that you should probably view the content in their newsletters as information that could potentially help you make more informed investment decisions.

As opposed to specific guidance on whether to buy or sell.

This may seem obvious if you’re an astute investor.

But unfortunately, I see many newbies approaching these newsletters as ‘get-rich-quick’ schemes.

And they take the information too literally and end up blowing all of their money.

3: Check the Billing Arrangements

As I said earlier, the pricing plans are hidden from view on the website.

So please make sure that you clarify the billing costs and subscription cycles before signing up to anything on the phone or during a sales presentation.

This may go some way in helping you avoid any unexpected charges in the future.

And it would probably be beneficial to ask about the refund policy specific to the service you are buying too.
