ClickBank is an online retailer of both physical and digital products.
The ClickBank affiliate programme is arguably one of the best in the industry.
Because you can earn up to 75% commissions on one-time sales, recurring payments, and even upsells for a huge range of products.
Customers are protected by a 60-day money-back guarantee.
Vendors can list their products on the ClickBank Marketplace to recruit affiliates.
I have personally made five-figures promoting ClickBank products as an affiliate.
- Up to 75% commissions for affiliates.
- Affiliates can earn commissions on rebills.
- Upsell flow means more earnings per-click.
- Massive range of products to promote.
- No application process for affiliates.
- 60-day money-back guarantee for customers.
- Vendors can recruit affiliates via Marketplace.
- Dormancy fees.
- Some products are low-quality.
This post contains affiliate links. This means that if you click a link and buy something, we might make money. This is at NO extra cost to yourself. But it helps to keep this website up and running. 🙂

I first started buying ‘online money-making’ products on ClickBank in 2014.
Shortly after that, I progressed to promoting products as a ClickBank affiliate.
And I even had a go at creating and selling my own digital products on ClickBank as a vendor.
So, in this ClickBank review.
I’m going to share my experiences with this versatile platform to help you decide if ClickBank is the right choice for your goals.
Oh, and be sure to sign up to my FREE email course.
Where I reveal the affiliate strategy that allowed me to earn $10,893.77 simply by promoting ClickBank products:
What is ClickBank?
ClickBank is an online retailer of both digital and physical products with three main functions:
1: Allows vendors to list their products for sale;
2: Facilitates the payment process so that customers can purchase products;
3: Provides tracking services so that affiliates can earn commissions promoting products.
Is ClickBank a Scam or Safe to Use?
The ClickBank platform itself is not a scam and is safe to use.
ClickBank is a legitimate business.
ClickBank was founded in 1998 by Tim and Eileen Barber and is the ’87th largest internet retailer in North America’. [Source].
However, the quality of the products being sold via the ClickBank platform varies greatly.
I know because I’ve bought and reviewed many over the years.
Some, like Profit Maximiser have made me £10,000s.
Whilst others turned out to be pure scams.
How to Avoid Scammy ClickBank Products
I’ve found that the ‘make money online’ and ‘health’ niches tend to be riddled with the most low-quality products.
You can typically spot them a mile off.
With their unrealistic claims of earning $XXX or losing Y lbs of ‘belly fat’ in an unrealistic time frame.
However, I’ve also reviewed some legit products (like Bonus Bagging) that look like scams but are actually very good.
So, I’d recommend that you look for genuine customer reviews before buying the product.
Try to use sites like Trustpilot.
Because many ‘review’ websites are actually run by biased ClickBank affiliates who’re simply looking for a quick sale!
Alternatively, if you’re thinking about buying a ClickBank product in the ‘make money online’ space.
Message me in the comments section at the end of the post.
I’ll probably be able to tell you if it’s going to be any good or not. 🙂
How Do You Use ClickBank?
It depends on your goal.
If you just want to buy a product.
Simply go to the product’s sales page and follow the checkout process.
ClickBank will then facilitate the payment and register the order on their system.
Which you can leverage if you need to claim a refund or cancel a recurring payment.
Make a note of your ‘nickname’.
This is what you’ll use to replace the XXXX in the affiliate links of the products that you’ll be promoting from the ClickBank Marketplace.
Alternatively, you can use the ‘Hoplink Generator’ by clicking the ‘Promote’ button next to the product you’d like to earn commissions from:
This will create an encrypted affiliate link that will track your sales relative to your ClickBank account.
If a customer clicks your affiliate link.
You’ll be credited for the sale if that person buys that product within the next 60 days.
I receive my ClickBank affiliate payments weekly via direct deposit to my bank.
I’ve never had a payment miss to date.
Selling your own product on ClickBank is a more complex process.
Here are the instructions I followed to do this.
Is ClickBank Free?
However, vendors must pay a $49.95 activation fee.
There are no monthly charges – but a $2.50 fee applies for every payment issued to you.
Also, accounts with a positive balance that do not make sales in a given timeframe are considered ‘dormant’.
To which the following fees apply:
- $1 per pay period after 90 days of no earnings;
- $5 per pay period after 180 days of no earnings;
- $50 per pay period after 365 days of no earnings.
What is the ClickBank Marketplace?
The ClickBank Marketplace is where vendors can list their products for sale.
Affiliates can use the Marketplace to find products to promote.
You can view products by category, search by keyword, and refine your results via several parameters.
The ‘Gravity’ of a product reflects how many affiliates are generating sales from that product:
Typically, a high Gravity rating implies a product that converts well.

What is the ClickBank University?
The ClickBank University is an online training platform that shows you how to make money using ClickBank.
The training is split into two parts.
One section is for vendors.
The other is for affiliates.
Having personally bought and used the ClickBank University.
I would say that this programme is best suited to vendors.
But affiliates can get some value too.

What is the ClickBank Knowledge Base?
The ClickBank Knowledge Base provides information on key topics.
For affiliates, vendors, and customers.

What is ClickBank’s Refund Policy?
ClickBank typically enforce a 60-day money-back guarantee.
I believe that exceptions are considered if the product has a low refund rate.
Or if the product is of a particular nature.
As a rule, ClickBank’s ‘no questions asked’ policy makes it very easy for customers to get their money back.
Which is good if you’ve bought a crappy product.
But no so great if you’re a vendor or affiliate promoting a legit product.
Because future refunds can really mess up your ROI calculations if you’re relying on paid traffic to generate sales.
How Do You Claim a Refund Via ClickBank?
Enter your details.
Click ‘Get Support’.
You can then request a refund.
How Do You Cancel a Recurring ClickBank Payment?
You can cancel your recurring payments at any time.
Enter your details.
Click ‘Get Support’.
You can then cancel your future payments.
How Do You Get Support from ClickBank?
You can then get specialised support depending on your requirements.
Make sure that you go through the correct customer, affiliate, or vendor portal.
Because personal experience has taught me that trying to get vendor questions answered is very difficult if you go through regular support.
In my case, I actually had to phone up to get in touch with the right department.
However, I’ve discovered that refund and cancellation requests are handled pretty quickly and without any fuss.
How Do You Make Money With ClickBank?
Most people become aware of ClickBank in their search to make money online.
There are three main ways to make money using ClickBank.
1: Become a ClickBank Affiliate
This is probably the ‘easiest’ way to make money from ClickBank.
Because technically, all you need to do is open a free account (no approval needed), grab your affiliate
And the ClickBank affiliate scheme is arguably one of the best.
Allowing you to earn up to 75% on commissions across a huge range of products.
However, this process is actually quite difficult to get results from if you don’t know what you’re doing.
Because getting people to click your links is hard enough.
Without factoring in all of the other affiliates who’re promoting the same products.
The affiliate section of the ClickBank University can certainly help you succeed.
But if you’d like to discover how I made five-figures as a ClickBank affiliate.
2: Become a ClickBank Vendor
Selling your own products on ClickBank is the ultimate way to make money online.
Because you get to keep all of the money.
Plus, you can actually use the ClickBank platform to get affiliates to promote your product for YOU if you so wish.
However, having developed my own digital products from scratch and sold them via the ClickBank Marketplace.
I can tell you that this is MUCH harder than being an affiliate.
Because even though I had a product that worked.
I really struggled to make sales.
Even with the help of the other ClickBank affiliates.
But if you’re sure that you want to develop your own products.
I strongly suggest that you follow Justin’s advice in the Vendor Training inside the ClickBank University.
3: Buy ‘Money-Making’ Products On ClickBank
Alternatively, you can buy online money-making products from ClickBank as a customer.
However, having reviewed many of these over the years.
I’d say that this probably won’t work very well on the whole.
Because many of these products ‘over-promise’ on the sales page.
And then ‘under-deliver’ on the actual content.
Because even if the product doesn’t turn out to be a scam.
Much of the content is often derived from PLR sources.
And thus too fragmented to actually get results from.
I’ve bought some amazing money-making products via the ClickBank platform over the years.
My top earners include:
- Bonus Bagging – make up to £500 matched betting;
- Profit Maximiser – earn money every month from matched betting;
- Betting Gods – high-quality tipping services.
Conclusion: Ideal for Affiliates and Vendors
ClickBank offers one of the best affiliate programmes in the industry in my opinion.
Because of the ability to earn up to 75% commissions on a one-time and even a recurring basis.
Also, many of the vendors use ‘upsell’ funnels.
Meaning that you could potentially earn even more if your referrals make more purchases.
Plus, you can get started for free.
And you don’t have to worry about not getting approved.
I strongly advise that you stick to promoting a selection of ClickBank products that you trust.
This will reduce the number of refunds.
As a vendor, ClickBank can be useful for recruiting affiliates and simplifying the payment process.
Again, I recommend that you take your time to create an outstanding product to minimise refunds.
Be sure to check out the ClickBank University if you’d like to take the ‘vendor’ route.
